It's real disappointing. It makes you feel like you've done all this work for nothing. Most of these players don't have anything to look forward to right now.

Not to make excuses, but the weather does impact the pitcher, especially in baseball. When you have a cold, windy day, it's hard to hold the ball and get into a rhythm. I hate to use that as an excuse, but the weather does have an impact.

It was a do-or-die play, and he made the do play. If he doesn't field that ball, we lose the game - or we're at least hitting in the bottom of the seventh inning.

It's a big deal. I expected him to sign with a Division I school when I saw him play as a freshman. He deserves it because he works hard.

Joe came out and threw five innings in the first one. He struck out 10, walked two and gave up just the one hit. Like his dad said after the game, he looked like a pitcher out there on the mound, not just a kid up there throwing the ball.

He's got his arm in really good shape. He's already pitched more innings this year than in his sophomore and junior seasons combined.
